These days, there are many individuals operating, and businesses being created, with the intention of providing a dog walking or pet sitting service. However, not everyone has the credentials nor the essential experience to provide an excellent client service, delivered to a standard that is acceptable and regulated by the mandatory standards.
Derek Chambers the owner of Finchley Dog Walker is e proud to acclaim that we are approved members of the following associations, and we operate to a professional “Code of Conduct”.
The Association of Professional Dog Walkers (APDW)
The mission of APDW is to promote positive support and communication between the public, dog walkers and local authorities with the aim of promoting responsible dog ownership for all.
The Association has been formed to differentiate between those pet sitters and dog walkers who adhere to a professional code of conduct and those who don’t. The Association invests money from membership fees into environmental, dog related projects such as sponsored waste bins and ensuring that community park use is regulated.
National Association of Pet Sitters & Dog Walkers (NarpsUK)
NarpsUK is one of the only Trade Associations in the UK dedicated to helping its pet sitting and dog walking members operate professionally and legitimately, allowing us to reassure our clients that they receive a first-class, dependable and quality service. A service that they can trust.
Originally founded in 2007, by a team of experts with extensive experience in the pet sitting and dog walking industry, the Association is now the regulating body, being recognised in central government and by local authorities.
First-aid and training qualifications
I am first-aid trained in both human and K9 services, and in addition work in conjunction with Tip Top Dog School to ensure that I work with our canine friends using positive, motivational training methods based on scientific learning principles.
By becoming members of these affiliated companies, Finchley Dog Walker are loyal and dedicated to the dog walking and pet sitting profession and our clients. We welcome positive change and a happier, brighter environment in which to care for and walk our doggy friends.
